Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics in supporting power plant and oil & gas projects.

You will work on system engineering, sizing calculations, specifications, and deliverables such as piping drawings and BOMs. The role involves collaboration in project teams and potential travel for reviews and site verification, with a hybrid in-office schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering with interest in thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
• Experience with CAD software, such as AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering design techniques and production drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations to size equipment, piping, valves and inline piping components.
• Prepare technical specifications and perform technical bid reviews to support client recommendations.
• Prepare technical studies and reports for client reviews.
• Prepare Piping & Instrumentation drawings, equipment lists, line lists, valve lists and material lists.
• Coordinate with mechanical system designers to develop piping drawings, Isometrics, plans and elevations.
• Travel to client/vendor offices or plant sites for design reviews and field verification.
