Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Mechanical/Chemical Engineer to apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and power engineering knowledge. You will prepare calculations, specs, and reports to support client recommendations, perform equipment sizing and selection, and contribute to system design and analysis.

Some travel to client/vendor offices and field sites may be required. The ideal candidate holds a BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, with ABET-accredited background, and

Qualifications

• This BS or MS must be in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with a strong focus on thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and power engineering.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering applications, design techniques, and production of technical plans and drawings.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications and strong written/verbal communication skills.
• Interest in numerical computations and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations, specifications, and technical reports to support client recommendations and reviews.
• Conduct equipment sizing, optimization evaluation, and selection in response to project needs.
• Support project teams with mechanical system design, modification, and analysis.
• Travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification.
