Job summary

Hargrove is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 1+ year of industrial experience to assist in the design of piping and process systems. The role emphasizes CAD drafting, standards adherence, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions.

Ideal candidates will hold a B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, demonstrate familiarity with piping materials, and possess strong communication and presentation skills. On-site work in Missouri may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university is required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) registration is strongly preferred; Professional Engineering registration is preferred upon eligibility.
• 1+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards.
• Knowledge of piping materials, valves, supports and safety devices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; good communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with department design and drafting standards.
• Work with project task teams on project scope and design criteria.
• Provide on-site assistance during startup.
• Assist in stress analysis, material specs, and piping estimates.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies for efficient solutions.
• Produce preliminary designs and material take-offs for estimates.
• Prepare detail design calculations and drawings for construction materials.
