Job summary

Daifuku Airport America Corporation in Novi, MI, seeks a Mechanical Engineer I to join the Airport Baggage Handling engineering team. You will assist with conveyor equipment design, platforms, headers, and related components, learning to handle layout and field support under supervision.

You will apply CAD skills, participate in design reviews, and contribute to system-level considerations while developing your engineering expertise in a world-leading automation company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology is required.
• 1-3 years of experience preferred for the role.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are expected.
• Experience with CAD/AutoCad, SolidWorks, Inventor is required or highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
• Use CAD and collaborate with engineers/designers on system designs and support structures.
• Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, and systems.
• Confer with engineers to implement procedures, resolve malfunctions, or provide technical information.
• Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
• Investigate equipment failures and diagnose faults to guide maintenance.
