Job summary

Daifuku Airport America Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to join the Airport Baggage Handling engineering team in Novi, MI. You will participate in design and detailing for conveyor equipment, platforms, header steel and related components.

This role offers opportunities to handle system layouts, structural design, and field support, working with engineers and designers to develop robust solutions, while contributing to manufacturing and installation processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• 1-3 years experience.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Cad/AutoCad, SolidWorks, Inventor.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or reports.
• Use CAD tools to develop system design and support structures.
• Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical systems to meet requirements.
• Confer with engineers or personnel to implement operating procedures and resolve malfunctions.
• Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
• Conduct research testing feasibility and performance of equipment and systems.
• Investigate equipment failures and diagnose faulty operation and maintenance needs.
• Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods.
• Develop, coordinate, or monitor production aspects of product designs.
• Specify system components to ensure conformance with specifications.
