Job summary

Whelen Engineering in Chester, CT is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I for the Automotive Division. You will contribute to design, development, and testing of new products, following the design process from concept to assembly.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 0-2 years' experience, proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD, and familiarity with PLM/PDM. Onsite work with standard hours and a collaborative team environment are expected.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 0–2+ years experience.
• Experience with injection molding, die casting, machining, vacuum forming and sheet metal fabricating.
• Proficient with SolidWorks and AutoCAD; familiarity with PLM/PDM software

Responsibilities

• Lead small projects and multiple tasks within engineering discipline.
• Read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings.
• Collaborate with engineers to implement procedures and resolve issues.
• Analyze design proposals to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance.
• Support manufacturing of prototype and pre-production products
