Whelen Engineering in Chester, CT, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III for the Aviation Division. You will design and develop components, support DO-160 environmental testing, and coordinate FAA certification activities for aircraft products.

The role requires strong collaboration with Manufacturing, Test, Electrical Engineering and QA and involves hands-on prototype manufacture and reporting. Candidates should have related mechanical engineering degrees and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 8+ years’ experience.
• MA/MS degree with 5-6+ years’ experience.
• Experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD and PLM/PDM systems preferred.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop components for Whelen Aerospace Technologies projects.
• Validate designs via testing and feasibility analysis.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Test, Electrical Engineering and QA to resolve engineering issues.
• Ensure DO-160 environmental compliance and support FAA certification activities.
• Prepare product reports and assist in prototype manufacturing.
