Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and integrate hydraulic and pneumatic systems for heavy-duty vehicle applications, with emphasis on fluid power. The role includes routing, sizing, component selection, and creating drawings and BOMs.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Familiarity with fluid‑power concepts.
• Experience with hydraulic and/or pneumatic routing.
• Experience with component sizing and selection.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate hydraulic and pneumatic systems for heavy-duty vehicle applications.
• Develop and review hydraulic/pneumatic routing and layouts.
• Perform engineering calculations to support component sizing and selection.
• Select appropriate mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components based on system requirements.
• Create and review engineering drawings, specifications, layouts, and bills of material.
• Evaluate designs for performance, safety, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and fluid‑power system issues and provide production support.
• Collaborate with other engineers, suppliers, manufacturing teams, and technical stakeholders.
