Job summary

Stillpoint AEC seeks a Mechanical Engineer with current experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems for buildings within an MEP consulting or AEC environment. Responsibilities include leading design for air distribution, hydronic systems, central plants, and ventilation, plus performing load calculations and energy analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Current HVAC and mechanical building systems design experience in an MEP/AEC environment required.
• Experience with load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork, piping, ventilation, and other building mechanical systems.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred; EIT candidates progressing toward PE licensure considered.
• Experience with ASHRAE standards, IMC, IECC, energy codes, and building codes.
• Proficiency with design platforms such as Revit, AutoCAD, TRACE, HAP, IESVE, EnergyPlus or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and mechanical systems including air distribution, hydronic systems, central plants, and ventilation.
• Perform heating/cooling load calculations and energy analyses.
• Develop system layouts, ductwork/piping designs, equipment schedules, and control sequences.
• Evaluate equipment such as AHUs, rooftops, chillers, boilers, pumps and heat exchangers.
• Coordinate systems with architectural/electrical/plumbing disciplines.
• Prepare calculations, reports, plans, specs, and construction documents.
