Job summary

Jacobs Solutions Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC/building services in the Atlanta area. You will develop conceptual and basis-of-design approaches, create plant utility and equipment layouts, and coordinate BIM models using Revit.

The role requires hands-on calculation work and field support to ensure design intent is realized. You will contribute to project budgets and schedules, travel as needed for client development, and support startup activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2+ years in HVAC/Mechanical building design (DoD/Defense exposure preferred).
• Experience with Revit and BIM coordination.
• Proficiency in load calculations/energy modeling (Trace/HAP or equivalent).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• FE/EIT certification or eligibility to obtain EIT.

Responsibilities

• Develop HVAC and plant utility system philosophies and design approaches.
• Create equipment plans, plant utility distribution plans, and system details.
• Perform temperature/humidity control and utility load calculations.
• Develop airflow diagrams, pressurization plans, and ductwork/piping layouts.
• Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and assist field startup as needed.
• Direct Revit designers and coordinate BIM across disciplines.
• Travel for client development and project implementation.
