Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a senior gas turbine instrumentation engineer in the United States to lead cross-functional initiatives across the product lifecycle. You will own core engine instrumentation and actuation systems, drive supplier qualification, and guide complex R&D projects with ISO-aligned quality practices.

You will collaborate with global teams, support fleet-related service programs, and focus on reliability, performance, and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
  • 8-10+ years of gas turbine engineering experience with instrumentation expertise.
  • Deep expertise in engine instrumentation, actuation systems, and validation.
  • Proven track record leading R&D programs and supplier qualification initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience across development, manufacturing, installation, validation, and risk management.
  • Experience resolving critical technical challenges and influencing stakeholders.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering support for R&D programs, service projects, and fleet across gas turbine portfolio.
  • Own technologies including core engine instrumentation, IGV/VGV actuation, and engine configuration management.
  • Collaborate with product development, fleet support, and service teams to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Conduct root-cause investigations and implement mitigation strategies to improve reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, suppliers, manufacturing, and service teams through product lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement and future product enhancements across turbine platforms.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Lead engineering support for R&D programs, service projects, and the operational fleet across Siemens Energy's advanced gas turbine portfolio.
  • Own critical technologies including core engine instrumentation, IGV/VGV actuation systems, and engine configuration management.
  • Partner across product development, fleet support, and service organizations to solve complex technical challenges and drive effective engineering solutions.
  • Conduct root-cause investigations, resolve critical technical issues, and implement mitigation strategies that improve fleet reliability and minimize customer impact.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, suppliers, manufacturing, and service teams to deliver robust solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement and future product enhancements by capturing lessons learned, supporting innovation initiatives, and advancing performance across multiple turbine platforms.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 8-10+ years of gas turbine engineering experience, with deep expertise in core engine instrumentation across multiple turbine frames and adherence to ISO and international industry standards.
  • Strong expertise in gas turbine instrumentation, actuation systems, and engine instrumentation, including system design, integration, validation, and performance optimization.
  • Proven track record leading R&D programs, supplier qualification initiatives, and complex technical projects, leveraging ISO 9001-aligned quality and supplier management practices.
  • Hands‑on experience throughout the entire product lifecycle, from development and manufacturing through installation, commissioning, validation, and risk management within ISO-based quality frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success resolving critical technical challenges, leading cross‑functional global teams, and influencing key stakeholders, with a strong understanding of how engineering decisions drive customer satisfaction, reliability, serviceability, and business performance.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for current or future employer sponsored work authorization.
