Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a senior gas turbine engineer to lead instrumentation across multiple turbine frames in the U.S. The role focuses on design, integration, validation, and performance optimization within ISO-based quality frameworks.

You will drive R&D programs, manage supplier qualifications, and coordinate with product development, fleet support, and service teams to ensure reliability and customer satisfaction across Siemens Energy's fleet.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 8-10+ years of gas turbine engineering experience with deep expertise in core engine instrumentation across multiple turbine frames and ISO standards.
  • Strong expertise in gas turbine instrumentation, actuation systems, and engine instrumentation, including design, integration, validation, and optimization.
  • Proven track record leading R&D programs, supplier qualification initiatives, and complex technical projects with ISO-based quality practices.
  • Hands-on experience across the product lifecycle from development to manufacturing, installation, commissioning, validation, and risk management within ISO frameworks.
  • Proven ability to resolve critical technical challenges, lead cross-functional global teams, and influence stakeholders to improve reliability and customer satisfaction.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US without need for current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering support for R&D programs, service projects, and the operational fleet across Siemens Energy's advanced gas turbine portfolio.
  • Own critical technologies including core engine instrumentation, IGV/VGV actuation systems, and engine configuration management.
  • Partner with product development, fleet support, and service teams to solve complex technical challenges and enable effective engineering solutions.
  • Conduct root-cause investigations, resolve critical technical issues, and implement mitigation strategies to improve fleet reliability and minimize customer impact.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, suppliers, manufacturing, and service teams to deliver robust solutions across the product lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement and future product enhancements by capturing lessons learned and advancing performance across turbine platforms.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

  • Strong expertise in gas turbine instrumentation, actuation systems, and engine instrumentation, including system design, integration, validation, and performance optimization.
  • Proven track record leading R&D programs, supplier qualification initiatives, and complex technical projects, leveraging ISO 9001-aligned quality and supplier management practices.
  • Hands-on experience throughout the entire product lifecycle, from development and manufacturing through installation, commissioning, validation, and risk management within ISO-based quality frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success resolving critical technical challenges, leading cross-functional global teams, and influencing key stakeholders, with a strong understanding of how engineering decisions drive customer satisfaction, reliability, serviceability, and business performance.
