Job summary

Fuse is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own end-to-end mechanical design of pulsed-power machines, from concept through detailed design, collaborating with electrical, controls, and pulsed-power teams to turn requirements into hardware.

You will drive design reviews, keep drawing packages current, and stay hands-on through assembly as machines evolve through testing. Candidates should have 2+ years in CAD modeling with GD&T and FEA, and be willing to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years with SolidWorks/Siemens NX and CAD modeling, including internships.
• Experience creating detailed drawings, assembly procedures, and reports with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience hosting and driving design reviews and rapid iteration in fast-paced development.
• Weldment and sheet-metal design experience with fabrication constraints.
• 1+ year running FEA and verifying results with hand calculations.
• Willingness to travel bi-coastally.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end mechanical design of pulsed-power machines from concept to detailed design.
• Gather requirements from electrical, controls, and pulsed-power teams into cohesive mechanical designs.
• Coordinate procurement and manufacturing with vendors to meet specs and schedule.
• Drive design reviews, maintain drawing packages, and manage action items.
• Hands-on during machine assembly and supervision to ensure build integrity.
• Oversee site work, ensure procedures are followed, and answer technical questions in real time.
• Support existing builds and lead design iterations during testing and development.
