Exponent seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join the Mechanical Engineering Practice in Philadelphia, PA. You will apply core mechanical engineering principles to solve complex client problems and work toward growing your consulting and communication skills.

You will manage projects, perform technical evaluations, and contribute to field inspections and failure analyses. Design of specialized experiments and collaboration with clients and engineers are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, or a Master's in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of consulting experience (Masters alone not sufficient).
• Strong written communications and ability to distill complex technical information.
• Experience with industrial equipment, machinery, construction sites, and field environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute projects across mechanical engineering applications.
• Perform technical evaluations and prepare written reports and presentations.
• Participate in field inspections and hands-on failure analysis for litigation matters.
• Design and implement custom experimental methods for assessing mechanical performance across industries.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, managers, clients, and staff.
• Assist in marketing capabilities to clients and the scientific community.
• Engage in professional development, publish research, present findings, and pursue certifications.
