Operations are conducted in ordnance processing buildings at Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic (SWFLANT), Kings Bay, Georgia. The candidate will perform investigative research to develop solutions to mechanical anomalies/failures discovered during the processing of missile hardware (issues related to propulsion, structures, ordnance, controls, avionics, and reentry hardware, SU operations, missile packs/unpacks, etc.) based on design requirements and subsequently propose those resolutions for action. Apply mechanical engineering principles to develop design recommendations as required in order to correct/resolve difficult and complex anomalies. Must be able to lead engineering evaluations for new design changes, documentation, equipment, processes, or capabilities as required and document technical investigations in reports and provide status to management.
