Garver is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Buildings team in the Oklahoma City area. The role focuses on designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, energy modeling, and sustainability reporting for Buildings projects.

You will coordinate with other disciplines, use BIM tools like Revit, perform design calculations in Excel, and support project managers. Travel to project sites will be required.

Competenze

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus.
• Minimum 3 years building design and construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles for building systems.
• Proficient communication skills.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• FE exam passed.

As part of the Buildings team for Garver, this Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing mechanical designs in support of various Buildings projects. Specifically, this responsibility will include a variety of projects related to planning, design, and commissioning of:

• Building HVAC system(s)
• Building plumbing system(s)
• Building fire protection system(s)
• Building whole building energy modeling
• Building sustainability requirements reporting

In addition, this role will include coordination with other support disciplines, and coordination with regional offices. Assisting project managers in management of projects. Following quality assurance and quality control plans. Periodic travel to project sites will be required.

Abilities and attributes needed for this position:

• Knowledge of mechanical engineering and sustainability principles
• Utilizing BIM design software to produce construction drawings
• Utilize Microsoft Excel based calculation tools for design calculations
• Manage multiple assignments concurrently
• Be responsible for time management and product quality
• Keep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projects
• Follow Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans
• Be responsible for continuing education and learning based on project needs, as well as overall needs of the team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus from an ABET accredited university or college.
• Minimum of 3 years of building design and construction industry experience
• Must have a knowledge base of mechanical engineering principals related to building mechanical designs
• Must have strong communication skills
• Experience with Autodesk Revit
• Must be proficient with MS Office Suite
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD
• Experience with Carrier HAP or similar HVAC load analysis program
• Experience with AIA MasterSpec
