Garver Engineering seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join the Buildings team in Tulsa, OK. You will develop mechanical designs for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, energy modeling, and sustainability reporting, coordinating with designers and regional offices and traveling to project sites.

The requirements include ABET‑accredited BS in mechanical or architectural engineering, 3+ years in building design, Revit proficiency, strong communication, and FE exam passed.

Qualifications

  • ABET‑accredited degree in mechanical or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus.
  • Minimum 3 years of building design and construction industry experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles related to building designs.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit.
  • “Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam”

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical designs for building HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and regional offices; assist project managers.
  • Support energy modeling and sustainability reporting; ensure QA/QC plans are followed.
  • Travel to project sites as required.

Mechanical Engineer - EI

Tulsa, Oklahoma

As part of the Buildings team for Garver, this Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing mechanical designs in support of various Buildings projects. Specifically, this responsibility will include a variety of projects related to planning, design, and commissioning of:

  • Building HVAC system(s)
  • Building plumbing system(s)
  • Building fire protection system(s)
  • Building whole building energy modeling
  • Building sustainability requirements reporting

In addition, this role will include coordination with other support disciplines, and coordination with regional offices. Assisting project managers in management of projects. Following quality assurance and quality control plans. Periodic travel to project sites will be required.

Abilities and attributes needed for this position:
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering and sustainability principles
  • Utilizing BIM design software to produce construction drawings
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel based calculation tools for design calculations
  • Manage multiple assignments concurrently
  • Be responsible for time management and product quality
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projects
  • Follow Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans
  • Be responsible for continuing education and learning based on project needs, as well as overall needs of the team
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus from an ABET accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 3 years of building design and construction industry experience
  • Must have a knowledge base of mechanical engineering principals related to building mechanical designs
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Experience with Carrier HAP or similar HVAC load analysis program
  • Experience with AIA MasterSpec
