Job summary

Phoenix Technical Solutions is seeking a Factory Support Engineer to provide technical support for diesel engine production for GE Transportation. Based at Grove City, PA, you will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure correct assembly and testing of medium-speed engines.

You will lead manufacturing initiatives, document changes, and drive improvements in efficiency, quality and safety on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience with engineering specifications and SOP documentation.
• Familiarity with general manufacturing processes and business practices.
• Knowledge of locomotive systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Site point of contact for supporting assembly and testing of medium speed diesel engines.
• Interface with respective customer departments to ensure compliance with the engineering specifications as outlined by the Engine Design Engineering Team.
• Lead, execute and coordinate manufacturing initiatives with other interdisciplinary teams on cost savings, productivity and reliability projects.
• Work with all applicable departments and suppliers on all stages of the design for manufacturing processes, including, Process Failure Mode Analysis, financial impact, and Management of Change Process.
• Work in coordination with the factory and process engineering teams to set project priorities and implementation schedule.
• Manufacturing point of contact for preparing all necessary change documentation for component disassembly and assembly processes documentation.
• Support shop floor initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Support technical decisions thru MRB for qualifying non-confirmative material for assembly and test.

Job Description

Phoenix Technical Solutions is looking for a Factory Support Engineer to work with their GE Transportation customer. The engineering position is responsible for providing technical support for diesel engine production. These efforts include maintaining and creating manufacturing instructions, supporting tooling and manufacturing improvements to assure the proper assembly and manufacture of diesel engines and components.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (preferably Mechanical) or equivalent experience in a technical role.
