Phoenix Technical Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support GE Transportation engine assembly and testing in Grove City, PA. You will drive manufacturing improvements, maintain instructions, and assist in tooling and processes to ensure proper engine production.

Responsibilities include serving as site contact for assembly/test, coordinating with departments on specs, and leading cost savings and reliability initiatives with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing multiple projects.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of engineering documentation (SOPs, specs).
• Experience with manufacturing processes; locomotive knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives with cross-functional teams on cost savings, productivity and reliability.
• Collaborate on DFMA and MOC with design, process and other teams.

• Support MRB decisions for non-conforming material.

Job Description

Phoenix Technical Solutions is looking for a Factory Support Engineer to work with their GE Transportation customer. The engineering position is responsible for providing technical support for diesel engine production. These efforts include maintaining and creating manufacturing instructions, supporting tooling and manufacturing improvements to assure the proper assembly and manufacture of diesel engines and components.

Responsibilities

• Site point of contact for supporting assembly and testing of medium speed diesel engines.
• Interface with respective customer departments to ensure compliance with the engineering specifications as outlined by the Engine Design Engineering Team.
• Lead, execute and coordinate manufacturing initiatives with other interdisciplinary teams on cost savings, productivity and reliability projects.
• Work with all applicable departments and suppliers on all stages of the design for manufacturing processes, including, Process Failure Mode Analysis, financial impact, and Management of Change Process.
• Work in coordination with the factory and process engineering teams to set project priorities and implementation schedule.
• Manufacturing point of contact for preparing all necessary change documentation for component disassembly and assembly processes documentation.
• Support shop floor initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Support technical decisions thru MRB for qualifying non-confirmative material for assembly and test.

Desired Skills

• Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Solid interpersonal/communication and leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of technical documentation (Engineering Specifications, SOP's, etc...).
• Experience/knowledge with general manufacturing processes and business practices.
• Additional experience/knowledge with locomotive systems a plus.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (preferably Mechanical) or equivalent experience in a technical role.
