Job summary

MK2 Engineers in Northern California is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer/Designer with strong HVAC and plumbing design experience. You will lead hands-on design, coordinate with clients, and work directly with leadership on project ownership.

This role requires a California PE license preferred; you will design for new construction, renovations, and upgrades while ensuring code compliance and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Strong HVAC and plumbing design experience for buildings.
• Knowledge of California mechanical, plumbing, and energy codes.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and plumbing systems for new construction, renovations, and upgrades.
• Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and air-/water-side calculations.
• Prepare and coordinate drawings, specifications, reports, and design documentation.
• Support California Title 24 compliance.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, and project team members.
• Conduct site investigations and support construction administration.
• Review project documents and assist with QA/QC.
• Help manage projects from design through construction.
