Job summary

Gulfstream Strategic Placements, LLC is seeking an HVAC Designer/Engineer for a permanent role. The position involves creating HVAC drawings, performing engineering load calculations, and collaborating with design and BIM teams on various mechanical systems.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering degree, an active EIT/PE license, LEED AP, and substantial HVAC design experience, including large-scale projects across diverse facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• HVAC engineering and design experience required.
• Advanced knowledge of CA PHVAC codes and ASHRAE requirements.
• Experience working for mechanical/HVAC contractors or MEP design firms.
• Experience on large projects (schools, healthcare-OSHPD, high-rises, hotels, airports).

Responsibilities

• Work with Engineering and Design teams on HVAC drawings and load calculations.
• Review and design HVAC systems from Architects' and Owners' drawings.
• Build ISO and Fab Drawings.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Design and BIM teams.
• Design ductwork layouts, piping systems, chilled water, hot water, air handling, heat rejection, and other mechanical systems.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external trades in BIM coordination meetings.

We are a large, growing Plumbing and HVAC Mechanical Contractor currently hiring for an HVAC Designer/Engineer. This is a permanent position with a great salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

• Work with our Engineering and Design teams on current and future hvac drawings and engineering load calculations
• Review and Design hvac systems within drawings provided by Architects and Owners
• Build ISO and Fab Drawings
• Work closely with Engineering, Design and BIM teams
• Design layouts for ductwork, piping systems, chilled water, hot water, air handling systems, heat rejection systems, and other mechanical systems
• Coordinate with other internal teams and external trades in BIM Coordination meetings

Requirements:

• Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering
• EIT or PE License
• LEED AP Certification
• HVAC Engineering and Design experience
• Advanced knowledge of CA PHVAC Codes and ASHRAE requirements
• Working experience for Mechanical/HVAC contractor and/or MEP Design Engineer firm
