As a multi-discipline firm, Isett provides a full range of engineering and consulting services, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, environmental, geotechnical, and municipal engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, code enforcement, plan review, construction management, construction materials testing, and grant writing services to clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Our M/E/P department is seeking a Mechanical Engineer or Designer with three or more years of experience in HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection design to work on a variety of projects, including: institutional, industrial, office, and multi-use properties; educational/higher education facilities; entertainment venues and hotels; healthcare facilities, and tenant fit-out projects. “Diverse” describes our portfolio!

Because our employees are usually involved in several projects at one time, involving numerous team members (such as project manager, engineer, and CADD technician/designer), exceptional communications skills and the ability to work well with others is essential.

Responsibilities:

1. Design HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems.
2. Perform load calculations.
3. Select systems and equipment.
4. Work closely with the project team and communicate with project managers.
5. Learn and maintain the drafting standards as established by the design team.
6. Coordinate documentation to ensure information is correct.
7. Assist with site surveys.
8. Assist with preparation of project proposals, contracts, reports, and specifications.
9. Continuously expand knowledge and skills necessary to design MEP/FP systems.

Requirements:

• B. S. in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering; or technical degree in drafting/design; or related course work.
• Three or more years of experience in the design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Fundamentals of Engineering/E.I.T. certification a plus.
• Knowledge/Understanding of LEED and Green Building practices a plus.
• Knowledge of the Building Codes, ASHRAE Standards, and National Fire Protection Association Standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivation and the ability to work in office or remotely, as needed.
