Job summary
Addison Group seeks a Mechanical Engineer in East Pittsburgh, PA to help design custom capital equipment and fixtures for advanced manufacturing. You will take designs from concept through fabrication, assembly, startup and troubleshooting, collaborating with project management, purchasing, and global engineering teams.
The role blends 3D design, 2D drafting and hands-on machine support, with meaningful impact on reliability and manufacturability of equipment delivered worldwide.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of 3D modeling experience using SolidWorks and Pro/ENGINEER.
- 3-5 years of 2D drafting experience using SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, and AutoCAD.
- Hands-on experience designing or assembling fixtures preferred.
- Experience with fabrication processes; MS Office familiarity.
- SAP familiarity is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and draft customer-specific capital equipment with SolidWorks and Pro/ENGINEER.
- Develop mechanical designs, assemblies, components and drawings.
- Create tooling and fixtures for advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering docs.
- Support equipment startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with purchasing and suppliers for manufacturability.
- Provide guidance to vendors and internal teams.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects and standardization.
