Job summary

LVI Associates in Wales, Wisconsin seeks a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to design custom automation machinery, robotic cells, tooling, and SPMS using SolidWorks. The role covers the full lifecycle from concept through build, testing, commissioning, and customer installation.

You will design 3D models and drawings, select mechanical components, manage drawings and BOMs, and work closely with Controls Engineers and project teams to troubleshoot and optimize solutions on site.

Qualifications

• SolidWorks and 3D mechanical design experience required.
• Experience creating assemblies, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, actuators, mechanical components, and GD&T.
• Experience supporting equipment through build, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Background with a system integrator, robotics integrator, machine builder, or custom machinery OEM preferred.
• Experience with robotic cells, assembly automation, tooling, or material-handling systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design custom machinery, automation equipment, robotic cells, and tooling.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and BOMs.
• Select mechanical components, including pneumatics, actuators, motors, bearings, and guarding.
• Manage engineering documentation, drawing releases, and revisions.
• Support fabrication, assembly, and machine build activities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and make design changes during build.
• Support machine testing, FAT, commissioning, startup, and installation.
• Work closely with Controls Engineers, Robot Programmers, Project Managers, and assembly teams.
