Job summary

Wisconsin Automation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and support automation equipment with SolidWorks, 3D CAD, and GD&T expertise. You will manage drawings, BOMs, and documentation while collaborating with controls, robotics, and project teams to meet project milestones.

The role involves hands-on assembly support, debugging, and occasional travel to customer sites to ensure proper fit, function, and safety across installations.

Qualifications

• Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Experience managing mechanical BOMs and revision history.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles including tolerancing and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom automation equipment and tooling using SolidWorks 3D CAD.
• Generate and maintain 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and assembly documentation.
• Organize and manage design documentation, including BOMs and revision history.
• Research, select, and order mechanical components and materials.
• Monitor and support mechanical assembly to ensure design intent and safety.
• Coordinate with controls engineers, robot programmers, and project managers.
• Review and optimize design practices; participate in design reviews and technology evaluations.
• Maintain accurate design records and submit weekly timesheets.
• Provide hands-on assembly, troubleshooting, and testing support; travel to customer sites as needed.
