DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Mechanical Engineer Consultant, you will perform a wide variety of advanced, mechanical engineering duties and provide support to correctional institutions across the state. This role will require you to develop solutions to various operational, maintenance, design, and construction problems using advanced and innovative mechanical engineering principles and methods. You will also serve as a project coordinator for construction projects, whether contracted to a professional, licensed engineer, or designed in-house. As an expert in mechanical engineering, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success and efficiency of these projects.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours week
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week after the initial 6-month training period. During the training period, you must report in-office to 1920 Technology Parkway, Mechanicsburg. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg. Telework agreements are subject to change.
• Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years as a Mechanical Engineer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of professional mechanical engineering experience which required work on any structural mechanical system.

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of a Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
• This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• PA residency requirementis currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
