DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Mechanical Engineer Consultant, you will perform a wide variety of advanced, mechanical engineering duties and provide support to correctional institutions across the state. You will develop solutions to operational, maintenance, design, and construction problems using advanced mechanical engineering principles. You will also serve as a project coordinator for construction projects, ensuring their success and efficiency.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week
• Work hours: 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
• Telework: Potential for part-time telework up to 3 days/week after 6-month training; must have a secure high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside PA
• Salary: Starting salary may be non-negotiable in some cases
• Interviews are conducted in person only at 1920 Technology Parkway, Mechanicsburg, PA

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

Qualifications

• Two years as a Mechanical Engineer 2 or equivalent Federal job experience
• Four years of professional mechanical engineering experience involving structural systems

Special Requirements

• Professional Engineer license issued by PA
• Valid driver's license not under suspension

Other Requirements

• Completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA
• PA residency is waived
• Ability to perform essential job functions
