Job summary

Olin Chemicals is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Co-Op for Fall 2027 in Freeport, TX. This role supports maintenance and production through reliability, design, and maintenance of mechanical equipment for safe, efficient operations.

You will lead hands-on projects, provide reliability leadership for rotating and fixed equipment, and contribute to preventive/predictive maintenance policies while participating in plant turnarounds and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering degree program.
• GPA 3.0 or higher at all times while enrolled.
• Completed sophomore year (60 credit hours) before first rotation.
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week); no virtual work.
• Must obtain TWIC and have a valid US driver's license.
• US work authorization; sponsorship not provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead a minimum of three hands-on projects during the rotation.
• Provide reliability leadership for rotating and fixed equipment.
• Support maintenance in developing preventative/predictive maintenance policies.
• Participate in plant turnarounds, update P&IDs, and drive continuous improvement.
