Job Description Duties:

Assist various engineers in testing of electric motors, including acoustic and vibration tests, electrical tests, and mechanical tests. Prepare motors, motor applications, test fixtures, and sensors for testing. Troubleshoot motor test-related issues, disassembly of parts for modifications, re-assembly of parts. Design and modification of test fixtures. Prepare and ship parts to customers or intra-company. Basic coding: data analysis, manipulation, and post-processing. Report writing, graphing of data, and interpreting results for engineer’s review. Use lab tools and measurement equipment to determine electrical and mechanical motor properties. Familiarity/experience in safely using hand and power tools (drills, band saw, etc.).

Education/Skills/Experience:

Planned B.S. degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Strong knowledge of mechanical and basic electrical circuit theory Preferred but not required to have knowledge of acoustics, digital signal processing, Fourier Analysis, or modal analysis Professionalism and strong verbal and written communication skills Self-motivated Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Organization with attention to detail and multi-tasking skills Basic experience with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required. MATLAB or ANSYS (preferred)
