Job summary

Sigma Defense in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 0-2 years of experience to support design, prototyping, and testing of mechanical systems. You will report to a senior engineer and production supervisor, developing improvements and ensuring CAD drawings meet project needs.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
0-2 years mechanical engineering experience.
Knowledge of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
Proficient with CAD and design software.
Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Effective written and verbal communication.
Understanding of target user and market.
US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Will report to senior mechanical engineer and production supervisor for daily duties.
Identify deficiencies in mechanical processes and develop improvements.
Design and develop prototypes.
Analyze and test prototypes and each revision of a device.
Supervise CAD project drawings from junior team members.
Develop, initiate and manage all phases of projects.
Prepare documentation of critical analysis and provide suggestions for corrections.
Collaborate with Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking resources.
