Job summary

Sigma Defense is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the Army NetMod program by designing mechanical components and assemblies, selecting materials, and validating performance using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA while ensuring TEMPEST and secure-environment considerations. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years of DoD contracting experience, and U.S.

citizenship with the ability to obtain an active Secret clearance (clearance not sponsored).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Formal education may be waived based on certification and relevant work/military experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for design and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD/CATIA).
  • Select materials, processes, and tolerances for mechanical designs.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues during development, testing, and production.
  • Collaborate with electrical/software engineers to integrate systems.
  • Produce and maintain detailed drawings and documentation.
  • Stay updated with industry standards and best practices.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute feedback.
  • Contribute to continuous design process improvements.
