Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join its Building Engineering Services Group in San Antonio, TX. You will coordinate mechanical design, work with project teams, ensure code compliance, and contribute to documentation and QA.

Requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, PE license, and 3+ years in commercial or institutional facilities; Master’s preferred. Experience with MS Office and design tools is a plus; LEED interest encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• Experience in mechanical design of commercial or institutional facilities is required.
• Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis is preferred.
• Experience with LEED is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of the mechanical design team through schematic design development and contract document phase.
• Establish meetings and participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Coordinate workload to complete the document on schedule.
• Conduct work sessions at the project site with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Review mechanical documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
• Write and edit mechanical specifications and select equipment and systems.
• Coordinate with affected disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders.
• Provide construction contract administration as needed.
• Perform QA/QC on the work of other Mechanical Engineers or CAD Technicians.
