Job summary

Kleinfelder’s Design Services is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide design support for projects in public and private sectors from our Perrysburg, OH office. The role includes design of moderate to complex projects, guiding designers and technicians, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.

The ideal candidate will have a PE preferred in Ohio, EIT certification, and 4–8 years of mechanical engineering experience, with strong HVAC and plumbing knowledge and CAD software

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Engineer-in-Training certificate is required; PE license in Ohio preferred.
• 4–8 years of progressive professional mechanical engineering experience.
• LEED certification is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of industrial HVAC and plumbing design for new construction and renovations.
• AutoCAD and REVIT experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Valid driver's license with safe driving practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical calculations and develop work packages and engineering documents.
• Interpret and apply all applicable federal, state and local codes.
• Execute technical reviews of design documentation and provide actionable feedback.
• Analyze technical issues within Mechanical Engineering with support from other disciplines.
• Conduct field investigations to determine existing conditions.
• Travel to field for project scoping, verification, construction support, and client meetings.
• Report to Mechanical Discipline Lead on progress and ensure coordination between engineering, design, and project management teams.
• Mentor, direct work, and supervise junior team members.
