A client of Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their growing engineering team in Columbus, Ohio. This individual will support the design and development of mechanical building systems for commercial, data center, mission-critical, healthcare, and other technically complex projects. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing and modifying mechanical design plans, construction drawings, specifications, calculations, and equipment selections. This is a hands-on engineering/design position within a consulting environment, with engineers taking ownership of projects and collaborating with clients and other engineering disciplines throughout the design process. The client is open to engineers across a range of experience levels, from junior-level candidates through experienced senior engineers.

• Design and develop HVAC and mechanical building systems
• Develop and modify mechanical construction documents, including drawings, plans, and specifications
• Create and mark up engineering/design plans using Revit and AutoCAD Perform mechanical system calculations and assist with equipment selection
• Support the design and analysis of central plant, chiller, glycol, and related HVAC systems
• Review mechanical plans, drawings, and project documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Coordinate mechanical designs with electrical, architectural, and other engineering disciplines
• Work directly with clients and project stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide technical solutions
• Support projects through the design and construction phases
• Depending on experience level, provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
