Job summary

Kleinfelder's Perrysburg, OH office is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support project teams across facility design, focusing on public and private sector work. You will perform mechanical calculations, review documents, and mentor junior staff.

Candidates should have a mechanical engineering degree, an EIT, Ohio PE preferred, 4–8 years of experience, and familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, AutoCAD/REVIT. This role offers growth and a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training certificate required.
• Professional Engineering License in Ohio preferred.
• 4-8 years of progressive professional mechanical engineering.
• LEED certification a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Industrial HVAC and Plumbing design for new construction and renovation of buildings.
• AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical calculations and develop work packages and engineering documents.
• Interpret and apply all applicable federal, state and/or local codes.
• Execute thorough technical reviews of design documentation and provide actionable feedback.
• Analyze technical issues within the Mechanical Engineering discipline, aided and supported by the other specialist disciplines.
• Conduct field investigations to determine existing conditions.
• Travel to field for project scoping, verification, construction support, and meeting with clients.
• Report to Mechanical Discipline Lead on progress of work and ensure coordination between the engineering, design, and project management teams.
• Mentor, direct work, and supervise junior team members.
