Job summary

Morrison-Maierle in Boise, ID is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (HVAC & Plumbing) to design and integrate heating, cooling, and plumbing systems with architectural plans.

You’ll apply thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science, draft plans with REVIT, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver building solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 4+ years of mechanical engineering experience with HVAC & plumbing design.
• EIT licensure required; PE licensure preferred or pursuing.
• Proficiency with REVIT engineering design software.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Interpret architectural design plans and research appropriate HVAC and plumbing systems to fit the project scope.
• Design the heating, cooling, and plumbing systems to integrate with the architectural plan.
• Apply thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, and structural analysis within design work.
• Understand how the mechanical piece affects other disciplines within the project.
• Leverage design software to draft plans, drawings, and models.
• Select appropriate equipment to support building HVAC and plumbing needs.
• Find creative solutions for engineering projects in challenging spaces.
• With operations manager, develop new client business and win new project work.
