Job summary

Anduril Industries’ Manufacturing Automation team seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of automated manufacturing equipment. The role focuses on system-level designs, simulations, and integration of EOAT for robotics within Anduril factories.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in mechanical design for automation, strong NX and AutoCAD skills, and a solid grasp of fabrication processes. U.S. Person status is required due to export-controlled information access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar field.
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical design with a focus on automation, machinery or robotics.
• Strong 3D CAD capability in NX.
• Proficient 2D CAD capability in AutoCAD.
• Basic understanding of automation components (actuators, servos, VFDs, gears, bearings, pneumatics).
• Experience with machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, and additive manufacturing.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to access to export-controlled information.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of automated manufacturing equipment from concept through commissioning and handover.
• Develop system-level designs, simulations, and studies to define equipment requirements.
• Perform simulations for robotic systems and architecture development.
• Design, build, and integrate fixtures, tooling, and EOAT for automation.
• Design equipment utilizing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic power systems.
• Oversee prototype fabrication, assembly, and testing of mechanical designs.
