Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Manufacturing Automation team in Costa Mesa, CA. You will lead the mechanical design of automated manufacturing equipment from concept to commissioning, while developing system-level designs and simulations to de-risk concepts and define equipment needs.

You will collaborate with electrical, controls, and robotics engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems and support prototype fabrication, testing, and production

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar field.
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical design, with a significant focus on automation, machinery, or robotics
• Strong 3D CAD capability in NX
• Proficient 2D CAD capability in AutoCAD
• Basic understanding of mechanical components in automation (linear actuators, servo motors, gears, pneumatics)
• Experience with fabrication processes (machining, welding, sheet metal, additive manufacturing)
• Must be a U.S. Person due to access to U.S. export controlled information

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of automated manufacturing equipment from concept through commissioning and handover
• Develop system-level designs, simulations, and engineering studies to define equipment requirements
• Perform simulations for robotic systems and equipment, including reach studies and architecture development
• Design, build, and integrate tooling and EOAT for automation applications
• Oversee prototype fabrication, assembly, testing and issue resolution during rollout
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, and robotics engineers for seamless integration
