Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Amityville, NY is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design high-performance suspension and release systems for airborne platforms. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team to prototype and produce advanced solutions that meet demanding platform requirements.

Essential duties include CAD-based design, hand calculations, and collaboration across engineering and operations, with on-site presence in Amityville and up to 10% travel. Security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience; graduate degree preferred.
• CAD design skills, including part and assembly modeling in Creo.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present at design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Provide creative design solutions for high-performance pneumatic mechanisms.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on design challenges.
• Support conceptual and detail design with CAD; perform first order hand calculations and FEA.
• Present data in PDR/CDR design review settings, internal and external.
• Contribute to product design discussions from inception to production.
• Provide on-site development, integration and test support in Amityville.
