Job summary

Synthires is seeking experienced Mechanical Engineering professionals to contribute to AI research and evaluation projects involving real-world mechanical workflows. You will assess AI-generated designs, drawings, and technical documentation using your engineering judgment to judge accuracy, feasibility, and quality.

This fully remote, task-based role runs for about 4–6 weeks with 20+ hours per week, and may lead to hourly project work for high performers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or related role.
• Ability to evaluate engineering solutions and identify design or compliance issues.
• Strong understanding of drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical docs.
• Experience designing, evaluating, maintaining, or optimizing mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated mechanical designs, drawings, specifications, and docs for quality and accuracy.
• Compare AI outputs based on engineering rigor, design feasibility, and technical correctness.
• Review scenarios involving equipment design, system troubleshooting, and compliance with specs.
• Assess recommendations for practicality, performance, and adherence to industry standards.
• Provide detailed written feedback on reasoning, calculations, and design decisions.
• Identify errors, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve AI content.
• Contribute to development of engineering evaluation benchmarks and training data.
