Job summary

Mercor is seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers to evaluate and improve AI-generated mechanical content and workflows. You will apply real-world expertise in designing tools, machines, and mechanical systems to assess quality and accuracy of designs and drawings.

In this freelance role, expect to commit 20+ hours per week with immediate start. Duration is about 4–6 weeks, with task-based payment initially and transition to hourly pay after first task approval.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering roles.
• Experience designing, evaluating, or maintaining mechanical products, equipment, or systems, including interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Ability to commit 20+ hours per week.
• Strong written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated mechanical designs, technical drawings, system specifications, and other engineering artifacts.
• Compare AI-generated responses based on engineering rigor, design soundness, and specifications accuracy.
• Review mechanical engineering scenarios involving equipment design and troubleshooting and provide expert feedback.
