Job summary

Methode Electronics, Inc. is seeking a mechanical design engineer to develop and review product designs aligned with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements. You will participate in product development, scheduling, and problem solving, applying knowledge across automotive, medical, and sensor domains.

CAD/CAE tools will be used to create models and prototypes. The role involves collaboration with sales, travel to clients and vendors as needed, and supporting

Qualifications

  • BSME or BS Bio Mechanical engineering degree from a four year college or university
  • 1 - 2+ years of related experience
  • Self learning, task oriented, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge and proficiency with components in electrical transfer
  • CAD or equivalent program knowledge, 3D preferred
  • Ability to travel
  • Proven ability to overcome obstacles and get results

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications
  • Participate in activities concerning product development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems
  • Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products for relevant industry (such as Automotive, Medical Device, Power Distribution, Sensor)
  • Design and implement mechanical products using various CAD and CAE tools
  • Evaluate and implement design changes, specifications, and drawing releases
  • Is guided by and provide support to more experienced engineers
  • Conducts product testing and creates models and prototypes
  • May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products
  • Participate in product team environments related to mechanical & electrical product design
  • Interact with sales personnel and travel to customers and vendors as required
  • Other related duties as assigned

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
