Job summary

Methode Electronics seeks an engineer to develop and review mechanical product designs, ensuring compliance with engineering principles and customer requirements. You will participate in product development, testing, and design changes across multiple industries.

The role involves using CAD/CAE tools, collaborating with sales, and occasionally traveling to customers and vendors. A 1–2+ year background in mechanical engineering and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• BSME or BS Bio Mechanical engineering degree from a four-year college or university.
• 1–2+ years of related experience.
• Self-learning, task-oriented, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications.
• Participate in activities concerning product development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
• Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design products for relevant industries (such as Automotive, Medical Device, Power Distribution, Sensor).
• Design and implement mechanical products using various CAD and CAE tools.
• Evaluate and implement design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
• Be guided by and provide support to more experienced engineers.
• Conduct product testing and create models and prototypes.
• May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products.
• Participate in product team environments related to mechanical & electrical product design.
• Interact with sales personnel and travel to customers and vendors as required.
• Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of related experience
• Self‑learning, task‑oriented, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge and proficiency with components in electrical transfer
• CAD or equivalent program knowledge, 3D preferred
• Ability to travel
• Proven ability to overcome obstacles and get results

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
