Job summary

Methode Electronics in Rolling Meadows, IL is seeking a Machine Operator to set up and run production lines, perform first-time start-ups for new parts, and adjust settings to meet specifications. You will inspect outputs for quality, perform routine maintenance, and keep work areas safe and organized while following safety rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2+ years of experience setting up and operating machines, or 0 years with additional specialized training and/or certification.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints or drawings.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Set up and changeover machines to produce components per specs.
• Perform first-time setup for new products via programming and profiling.
• Operate equipment to meet production targets and quality goals.
• Conduct manual production tasks (labeling, loading/unloading).
• Visually inspect outputs for workmanship.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance as per manuals.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and follow safety rules.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Responsibilities

• Perform machine set-up/changeover to produce the required product or components by making mechanical adjustments to meet product specifications.
• Perform first time set-up of equipment for new products through programming, profiling, and mechanical/ software adjustments.
• Operate equipment to achieve production requirements and quality goals. Make minor adjustments to correct machine output as needed.
• Perform manual production operations as required, e.g., apply labels, place components, load and unload equipment.
• Visually inspect machine output to verify proper assembly and workmanship standards are being met.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities in accordance with machine operation manual or maintenance work instruction.
• Maintain neat and orderly work areas and comply with all safety rules.
• Other duties as assigned.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
