Job summary

Methode Electronics Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 1 to develop and review product designs in Rolling Meadows, IL.

You will participate in product development, scheduling, and resolving design and test issues, applying engineering principles to mechanical and electromechanical products. The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering (or related) with 1–2+ years of experience, strong communication, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (Biomedical optional) required or equivalent
• 1–2+ years of related experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with self-learning ability
• Familiarity with electrical transfer components is a plus
• Willingness to travel as needed to customers/vendors

Responsibilities

• Develop and review product designs ensuring compliance with engineering principles and customer requirements
• Support product development, scheduling, and solving design/test problems
• Design and implement mechanical products using CAD/CAE tools (3D)
• Create models, prototypes, and conduct testing as part of development
• Collaborate with sales, customers, and vendors as required

## Mechanical Engineer 1Applylocations: Rolling Meadows, ILtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: R26132**Position Responsibilities:*** Develop and review product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications* Participate in activities concerning product development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems* Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products for relevant industry (such as Automotive, Medical Device, Power Distribution, Sensor)* Design and implement mechanical products using various CAD and CAE tools* Evaluate and implement design changes, specifications, and drawing releases* Is guided by and provide support to more experienced engineers* Conducts product testing and creates models and prototypes* May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products* Participate in product team environments related to mechanical & electrical product design* Interact with sales personnel and travel to customers and vendors as required* Other related duties as assigned**Qualifications:*** BSME or BS Bio Mechanical engineering degree from a four year college or university* 1 – 2+ years of related experience* Self learning, task oriented, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills* Knowledge and proficiency with components in electrical transfer* CAD or equivalent program knowledge, 3D preferred* Ability to travel* Proven ability to overcome obstacles and get results**Work Environment:**The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
