Job summary

Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the Emerging and Disruptive Technologies Group. You will design and analyze Directed Energy systems and instrumentation, developing mechanical structures, enclosures, and opto-mechanical components, including thermal and flow analyses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related technical field.
  • Proficiency using SolidWorks 3D modeling tool.
  • Ability to work independently on projects with tight schedules.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support design and analysis of Directed Energy systems and instrumentation.
  • Develop mechanical structures, enclosures, and opto-mechanical components.
  • Perform thermal and flow analyses for system components.
  • Collaborate within a diverse, multi-disciplinary engineering team on multiple efforts.

Job description

Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to support the Emerging and Disruptive Technologies Group for the design and analysis of Directed Energy systems and instrumentation. This individual will directly support the execution of design, development, integration, and testing efforts for multiple Government and military customers. Candidate will be responsible for applying sound mechanical engineering and design principles in the development of mechanical structures, enclosures, and opto-mechanical components, to include thermal and flow analyses. Candidate will work as an individual contributor and within a diverse, multi-discipline engineering team supporting and leading multiple, simultaneous efforts.

Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related technical field.
  • Candidate must have demonstrated proficiency using SolidWorks 3D modeling tool.
  • Candidate must have the demonstrated ability to work independently on projects with tight schedules.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Required Experience
  • 3 years of engineering experience (Advanced STEM degrees will substitute for experience on a year for year basis).
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Experience with the design of electro-optical system packaging and mounting structures for military platforms.
  • Experience interfacing and communicating with customers and teammates.
  • Experience with opto-mechanical designs with precision tuning/adjusting capabilities.
  • Experience creating technical drawings according to ASME Y14.100.
  • Experience with structural and/or thermal analysis (FEA, Stress, Model, Thermal).
  • Experience GD&T.
