Job Description:

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Process Systems engineering group, focusing on the design, installation, and ownership of custom equipment for a medical isotope production facility. This role offers end-to-end responsibility, from vendor oversight and procurement through installation, commissioning, and site acceptance.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll ensure that critical process systems - including off-gas processing, uranium handling, waste processing, and liquid systems - are designed, built, and delivered to specification. Your work will directly contribute to advancing cancer diagnostics and therapeutics through reliable and safe production systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Project Controls on scheduled tasks and provide weekly updates.
  • Prepare and issue design packages, specifications, drawings, test plans, calculations, and reports for systems such as: Off-gas processing systems, Uranium handling systems, Waste processing systems, Liquid tanks, support structures, piping, and valves, Instrumentation and control schemes
  • Review and approve vendor-supplied designs and fabrication documents.
  • Oversee procurement and vendor contracts for design and fabrication.
  • Support FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SATs (Site Acceptance Tests) to ensure compliance and delivery.
  • Provide on-site support during installation, including walk-downs and field inspections.
  • Perform acceptance reviews of vendor documentation and equipment.
  • Interface with construction teams to resolve inquiries and technical issues.
  • Mentor and collaborate with other engineers to ensure effective system turnover.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 6+ years of relevant project experience in a professional setting.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects at various stages.

Preferred Experience

  • 6+ years of project experience in engineering or construction environments.
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.3 Process Piping Code and fundamentals of structural design for seismic loading.
  • Engineering support of construction sites and quality systems for bespoke equipment.
  • Experience in nuclear-regulated environments.
