Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in ABET-accredited Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with engineered-to-order products.
  • Knowledge of ASME, API, NFPA, ANSI and other industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and contribute to pre-sale technical activities and post-sale detailed engineering.
  • Develop technical solutions for quotes and projects.
  • Create fabrication drawings and Bill of Materials for awarded projects.
  • Serve as lead technical representative for proposals and projects.
  • Develop P&IDs from scratch or by redlining existing drawings.
  • Perform equipment sizing calculations using ProMax and in-house tools.
  • Review 3D models and drawings for compliance with SOPs.
  • Perform process design calculations for valves and safety devices.
  • Conduct ASME pressure vessel code calculations using Codeware COMPASS.

Summary
  • The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting both pre-sale technical and post-sale detailed engineering activities. This role owns the definition of technical solutions proposed and quoted to customers for assigned opportunities. Once a project is awarded, the engineer transitions from pre-sale activities into detailed engineering to support the development of a complete fabrication drawing package and Bill of Materials. This position serves as the lead technical representative for assigned proposals/quotes and projects.
Responsibilities
  • Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
  • Evaluate customer-supplied data (3D CAD files, drawings, scopes of work, and quality documents) to extract requirements that impact designs and the end product for quoting and detailed engineering.
  • Actively engage with external customers, project managers, and the commercial team to identify and discuss gaps between the defined scope of supply and customer requirements.
  • Proactively identify customer-induced scope changes and elevate to the project manager or commercial lead for consideration.
  • Develop P&IDs from scratch or by redlining existing drawings to communicate project requirements to Estimators and Drafting.
  • Perform equipment sizing calculations using process simulation software (ProMax), in-house spreadsheets, and other tools.
  • Review and approve all 3D models and drawings for assigned projects in accordance with company standard operating procedures.
  • Perform process design calculations for control valves, pressure regulators, pressure safety valves, and pressure vacuum relief valves.
  • Perform ASME pressure vessel code calculations using Codeware COMPRESS.
  • Other duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 3–5 years of experience working in a similar capacity in a manufacturing environment with engineered-to-order products.
  • Knowledge of ASME, API, NFPA, ANSI, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Experience applying NFPA requirements for electrical area classification to designs.
  • Experience specifying and designing process control systems using a mix of pneumatic, electro‑mechanical, and electronic devices.
  • In‑depth knowledge of national and international codes and standards for Oil & Gas process equipment design and fabrication.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and managing work against safety, quality, cost, and schedule constraints.
  • Ability to develop process equipment schemes and layouts from conceptual design basis, considering operability, maintenance, and safety.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to work well under pressure with multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend project specifications, contract documents, and Piping & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs).
  • Strong interpersonal, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in ProMax and Codeware COMPRESS.
