Job summary

Kelly Engineering is seeking a DIRECT HIRE Manufacturing/Production Engineer to join a leading client focused on precision engineering for energy, nuclear, and marine sectors. A bachelor’s degree in ABET-accredited engineering and 3–5 years in a manufacturing setting with engineered-to-order products are required.

Responsibilities include evaluating customer data, developing P&IDs, sizing equipment with ProMax, ensuring compliance with standards, and collaborating with project teams to align

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, petroleum, electrical, or instrumentation engineering from ABET-accredited university.
  • 3–5 years of manufacturing experience with engineered-to-order products.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards (ASME, API, NFPA, ANSI).
  • Experience applying NFPA requirements for electrical area classification.
  • Experience with process control systems and sizing calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Attend regular and punctual attendance as an essential function.
  • Evaluate customer data to extract design requirements for quoting and detailed engineering.
  • Engage with customers, project managers, and commercial team to discuss scope gaps.
  • Identify customer-induced scope changes and escalate as needed.
  • Develop P&IDs from scratch or by redlining existing drawings.
  • Perform equipment sizing using ProMax and in-house tools.
  • Review and approve 3D models and drawings per SOPs.
  • Conduct process design calculations for valves and relief devices.
  • Perform ASME pressure vessel code calculations using Codeware COMPRESS.
  • Assist with other duties as required.

Kelly Engineering is seeking a DIRECT HIRE - Manufacturing/Production Engineer to join one of our leading clients specialized in precision engineering for the energy, nuclear, and marine industries.

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 3–5 years of experience working in a similar capacity in a manufacturing environment with engineered-to-order products.
Responsibilities
  • Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
  • Evaluate customer-supplied data (3D CAD files, drawings, scopes of work, and quality documents) to extract requirements that impact designs and the end product for quoting and detailed engineering.
  • Actively engage with external customers, project managers, and the commercial team to identify and discuss gaps between the defined scope of supply and customer requirements.
  • Proactively identify customer-induced scope changes and elevate to the project manager or commercial lead for consideration.
  • Develop P&IDs from scratch or by redlining existing drawings to communicate project requirements to Estimators and Drafting.
  • Perform equipment sizing calculations using process simulation software (ProMax), in-house spreadsheets, and other tools.
  • Review and approve all 3D models and drawings for assigned projects in accordance with company standard operating procedures.
  • Perform process design calculations for control valves, pressure regulators, pressure safety valves, and pressure vacuum relief valves.
  • Perform ASME pressure vessel code calculations using Codeware COMPRESS.
  • Other duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 3–5 years of experience working in a similar capacity in a manufacturing environment with engineered-to-order products.
  • Knowledge of ASME, API, NFPA, ANSI, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Experience applying NFPA requirements for electrical area classification to designs.
  • Experience specifying and designing process control systems using a mix of pneumatic, electro-mechanical, and electronic devices.
  • In-depth knowledge of national and international codes and standards for Oil & Gas process equipment design and fabrication.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and managing work against safety, quality, cost, and schedule constraints.
  • Ability to develop process equipment schemes and layouts from conceptual design basis, considering operability, maintenance, and safety.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to work well under pressure with multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend project specifications, contract documents, and Piping & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs).
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
