Job summary

Gilder Search Group in the Philadelphia area is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design on commercial, multifamily, and industrial projects. This role combines hands-on engineering with client interaction in a hybrid office/remote setting.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate across disciplines, and drive projects from concept through construction documents. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, AutoCAD proficiency, and a background in mechanical, plumbing, or fire

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in commercial, multifamily, or industrial sectors.
• Experience across at least two of: mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit is a plus and will be taught.
• Ability to work independently while staying connected with the team.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Philadelphia Area (hybrid 3/2 or 4/1 home/office)

Growing MEP firm doing consulting engineering across commercial, multifamily, light industrial, and industrial projects, and adding at the senior level. Looking for an engineer who can lead the design and stay hands‑on when the schedule gets tight.

What You’ll Do

• Lead mechanical design on commercial, multifamily, and industrial projects
• Work directly with clients to maintain and grow the relationship
• Support projects from concept through construction documents
• Mentor junior engineers as the group scales

What You Have Already Done

• Spent 5+ years doing mechanical design, with a background in commercial, multifamily, or industrial work
• Contributed across at least two of three disciplines: mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection
• Worked in AutoCAD day to day (Revit is a plus, will teach)
• Operated independently while staying tight with the team

Why You Would Do It

Compensation targets $115,000 to $150,000+ base, depending on experience. You'd lead projects and grow client relationships at a firm that is growing. The expectation is that you balance technical execution with client interaction, step in when timelines demand it, and bring the next group of engineers up with you.
